Benny Benassi has cause to smile. He's only gone and got himself into Madonna's good books - she picked his mix for the official video release of her single 'Celebration'. "This was especially gratifying," beams Benny. It's been another great year for Benny, the hot trotting Italian 'Satisfaction' superstar, who has recently been building his own studio with his cousin and studio partner, Alle. Together they have also formed their own production company, Basic Music. "It's a formative experience, but I think it's time we stood on our two feet now. It's all very stimulating," says Benny, although he admits he and his cousin do tend to bicker. "We're like Tom and Jerry, but ten years down the road and people are still dancing to what we do, so we must be doing something right!" Firing on all remixing cylinders, Benassi has given his magic touch to Mika, Shakira, Flo Rida and Kid Cudi lately and when he plays out it's at full throttle, with his beefed up sets fuelled by indie anthems and house classics. He's got his sights set on a bi-monthly residency in New York next year and has just begun work on a new album. "It's still in the early stages, but we have a plan!" he says.
