Aoki OK!

LA electro DJ's hip new album

LA-based electro king Steve Aoki is to set tongues a-wagging with his new mix album 'Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles'. Aoki's come to prominence in the U.S. for his tireless gigging, Dim Mak record label, and hip-hop, rock and electro-fuelled DJ sets; now he's preparing to step his game up to the next level.

The new album, out in the U.S. 22nd January (UK release TBC) gathers together guest vocal spots from a bunch of his music biz pals, with Klaxons, Spank Rock, Amanda Blank, Har Mar Superstar, Santo Gold and Kid Sister all bringing a distinctive vocal take to tracks and remixes by Hervé, Justice and Bloc Party, elevating it beyond the run-of-the-mill mix album.

Steve Aoki's frequent use of rappers over the party beats of now has captured the zeitgeist. 'Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles' is an audio riot from start to finish: I defy you not to shake yo' booty!
