Attention all beat makers and sampling addicts! On Sunday 15th October Point Blank will be opening their doors for a very special ‘Samplethon’ competition their London studios, in collaboration with WhoSampled, KPM Music and Ableton. Ahead of the competition day, they’ll be selecting 20 competitors to bring their best sampling and production games to the table – simply submit your best track to us as a SoundCloud link to mailto:email@example.com before 6th October to put yourself in the running to participate on the day. Watch the video below to get an idea of what to expect on the day, which will be mentored and judged by a highly experienced panel including Shawn Lee (Ubiquity), Chris Read (BBE / WhoSampled), Ollie Teeba (Ninja Tune) and Point Blank’s Ski Oakenfull.
If successfully selected to participate in this Samplethon event, you’ll be one of 20 competitors who will be provided with a selection of samples from some classic KPM records to create a track with on the day and will be in with the chance to win some great prizes, including a KPM vinyl release alongside established artists, a course from Point Blank and some extra goodies from Ableton.
The event begins at 9am at the Point Blank London studio facility and participants will be able to make use of their studios and Hub area, also having the option to bring their own setup on the day. The competition will wrap up by 6pm, with winners selected on the day by our expert panel. This is a great opportunity to get yourself heard by some highly experienced and connected industry heads, and gain some great exposure as a winning release on a classic label with huge musical heritage.
