Marco Carola and Magdalena are among those heading to Saint Martin in March

SXM Festival 2022

SXM festival has announced more names for its 2022 edition, which returns to the Caribbean island of Saint Martin next month.

Audiofly, Layla Benitez, Magdalena, Marco Carola, Roustam, and Innellea (live) have all been added to the event line-up, playing across beaches, boats, jungle stages, and clubs from 9th - 13th March.

Names previously unveiled include Danny Tenaglia, Raresh, Ricardo Villalobos, Blond:ish, Carlita, Âme, Alexi Delano, and Sonja Moonear, with live sets from Jan Blomqvist, Wahm and WhoMadeWho.

Also on the bill is a performance from a new musical project featuring Isadore 'Mighty Dow' York and the Ebony Steel Orchestra. Combining house, techno, and traditional steel pans, the ensemble will also release an album, raising proceeds for local schools.

Environmental initiatives such as eliminating plastic, and the use of solar and LED lighting, are in operation. Organisers aim for 100% waste to be recycled through Saint Martin-based Verde SXM.

This year also sees the return of SXM DOET, a partnership between the festival, social cohesion project Oranje Fonds, and Be The Change Foundation. Established after the devastating impact of Hurricane Irma, which hit the island in 2017, a total of 98 projects are registered for 2022, with SXM Festival attendees encouraged to take part.
