Manchester duo Rae & Christian spearheaded the soul/funk-hop scene of the late '90s. Their Grand Central label released great music by Aim (including chill-out classic ‘Cold Water Music’), Riton, Boca 45 and more, not to mention their own superb two albums. 
‘Northern Sulphuric Soul’ — their fantastic debut opus of sunshine soul grooves and dope beats, which was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize — and follow-up ‘Sleepwalking’ in 2002 featured guests such as Bobby Womack, Jeru the Damaja, The Pharcyde and the Jungle Brothers.

Normally Boy George has an obvious template when writing a record, something’s troubling him, someone’s upset him or he’s got a broken heart. But this time round with his forthcoming album, ‘This Is What I Do’, he’s in a good place

First cropping up on Munk's Gomma imprint, Headman served as a familiar face of the electroclash movement during the mid-'00s, continuing to craft “nu” forms of disco, riffing on Italo, acid house and techno influences on Relish, the label he set up in 2001, and he's refused to go away — thankfully.

It was Bowie’s ability to experiment, trend-spot, paint lyrical images and create new personas — chameleon-like — in the '70s that gave him such a cult following.
