The inaugural Electronic Music Awards (EMAs) have revealed its 11 categories and respective nominees. The Chainsmokers, Sasha, Diplo, Porter Robinson and Rüfüs Du Sol are among those with multiple nominations.
Celebrating the community’s best producers, DJs, live acts, festivals, clubs and more, the EMAs have also given nods to The Black Madonna, Justice, Martin Garrix, Major Lazer, Movement, Berghain, and Annie Mac.
Diplo and Mark Ronson are working on a disco album
Diplo has revealed he’s working on a collaborative album with UK producer Mark Ronson, in a recent interview with men’s style magazine GQ.
The follow-up to his last collab LP with Skrillex where the pair went under the pseudonym Jack Ü, Diplo has said the new project with Ronson will focus on disco.

Diplo has spoken out about a forthcoming mockumentary series inspired by his life — titled 'What Would Diplo Do' — that's set to premiere on Viceland next week.
The first scripted show on the network features Dawson’s Creek actor James Van Der Beek playing the DJ and producer in what Diplo says “isn’t a reflection” of himself. Instead, it’s a parody of his Twitter account; one that Diplo claims was “always a joke”.

James Van Der Beek reveals first trailer for Viceland's What Would Diplo Do: WATCH
Viceland — the dedicated TV channel of vice.com — announced back in January that they were set to produce a spoof documentary series based on the life of Major Lazer's Diplo, with ex-Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek tipped to play the leading role.
Due to air in five parts and star fellow EDM joker Dillon Francis alongside Friday Night Lights’ Dora Madison, the first look trailer for the series has now officially landed (watch it below) with the full season set to debut on 3rd August via Viceland.
