96 Back has announced a series of new releases on Local Action.
The Sheffield-based producer will drop three new releases on the label throughout 2021, starting with the 10-track cassette, ‘9696 Dream’, which lands on 16th March. Hear the title track from the collection below.
Ariel Zetina has launched Local Action and Finn’s Mixtape Club series.
The Chicago-based Smartbar resident, who released her last EP ‘MUAs At The End Of The World’ via femme culture in February last year, has kicked off London label Local Action and Manchester's Finn's Mixtape Club series with a new tape titled 'Sestina'.
Local Action and Finn have launched a new mixtape series to help pay DJs during the pandemic, with six artists set to feature.
Known as Mixtape Club, the series is a response to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, which has effectively put the majority of selectors out of work since spring 2020, and works as a non-profit. Every act that contributes to the project is paid a flat fee, £150, with no rules or specifics on format. A budget of £150 is also offered to cover the costs of producing original artwork.
Anastasia Kristensen will feature on a forthcoming remix compilation.
Local Action and Lena Raine will release 'Reknowing', a multi-disciplinary remix series of Raine's debut album, 'Oneknowing', next month. Raine, a BAFTA-nominated composer, composed the soundtrack to 2018’s video game Celeste, and more recently for Minecraft's Nether update.
Gage will release a new EP later this month.
UK-based DJ and producer Gage will join the roster on Finn's Manchester-based imprint, 2 B Real, with his ode to the rave, 'E Anthem'.
Joining the likes of Anz and Gerry Read on the label, Gage's four-track EP is described by 2 B Real as "a carefully crafted love letter to Kevin Saunderson and the raw utopianism of 1990s dance music".
Mancunian DJ and producer Sharda will release a new EP this month.
Releasing EPs on Coil and Conducta's Kiwi Rekords to name but a few, Sharda follows up his two-tracker for the latter, 'Peace & Love', presenting six new tracks in the form of 'Champage Circuits'.
Local Action, the London-based label we ran an in-depth feature on this summer, and producer-cum-audio visual artist Sim Hutchins have launched a new interactive online project based on clubbing memories to coincide with his new EP, ‘Club Love’.
India Jordan will release a new EP through Local Action later this month.
Made up of two tracks, titled 'WARPER' and 'Bulbasaur Shuffle', the EP is Jordan's first for the label since the release of her DNT STP MY LV EP earlier this year.
A press text from Local Action says that the tracks have been "reloaded everywhere from Boiler Room to Barcelona," adding that they've been "highlights of India's DJ sets throughout 2019".
