Lovebox festival has announced LCD Soundsystem and Major Lazer as this year’s headline acts.
The recently reformed New York band will close the London festival on Saturday night, with Diplo’s Major Lazer topping the bill on Friday.
LCD Soundsystem have also been announced as headliners at this year’s Coachella and Primavera festivals. The group, led by James Murphy, disbanded in 2011 following a goodbye show at New York’s Maidson Square Garden.
Major Lazer are due to release their fourth album ‘Music Is The Weapon’ later this year.

The track, performed by Major Lazer (AKA Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire) and featuring vocals from MØ, has been streamed a whopping 526 million times.

Major Lazer’s forthcoming album will feature The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Travis Scott, Diplo revealed.
The LA producer behind the project told Billboard that “People are expecting some big records again, so we are back in the studio.”
The group’s last single ‘Lean On’ featured MØ and, most recently, Diplo collaborated with Justin Bieber on chart hit, ‘What Do You Mean?’
Major Lazer’s fourth album is titled ‘Music Is The Weapon’, a release date has yet to be announced.
Set to run from 10 – 17th August in Budapest, Hungary’s Sziget Festival features some of the globe’s most exciting and established acts, including Florence and The Machine, SBTRKT and more.
Dancehall daddy Diplo, signed to Secretly Canadian as Major Lazer, will headline the final day of the Red Bull Music Academy Stage at Bestival this summer.
Joining Diplo on the Sunday are Kaytranada, Trippy Turtle and Artwork amongst others.
Meanwhile, Thursday sees Jackmaster & Oneman present their four-deck Can U Dance show; DJ Harvey takes over Friday with his Discotheque, and JME and Skepta present a day of UK urban culture on the Saturday.
On Monday, Dec 30, a dance music bash will be cracking the Big Apple into a pulp. Major Lazer with Boys Noize, GTA and DJ Snake are throwing down their high energy DJ sets at Pier 94 for the musten’t miss affair Stateside of the season.
Barcelona's annual festival, Sonar enters its 20th year in 2013.
To celebrate they have drafted in a monster line up and moved house for the day time revelries.
CCCB in Montalegre, Barcelona has always been the proud foundations for Sonar by Day. This year however Fira Montjuic in Plaça d'Espanya, Barcelona will play host to the party.
The new location allows more ravers into the pit, with the four stages including 'SonarVillage', 'SonarHall', 'SonarDome' and 'SonarComplex' now with increased capacities.
2017 was an odd year for Major Lazer as their fabled fourth studio album, 'Music Is A Weapon', never materialised, and instead the group released their 'Know No Better' EP featuring a disparate selection of collaborators from Nicki Minaj to Travis Scott — as if Diplo had scrolled through his Blackberry randomly selecting artists to work with. Some critics felt that the EP was by no means the group's finest work, falling some way short of their previous output and lacking any real cohesion.
The group's fourth album may now never see the light of day after Diplo admitted he's lost faith in the album format, and recently lambasted the commercialisation of DJ culture, which he described in a recent interview as "cheesy" and "embarrassing". Hopefully, this awakening of sorts might propel the group to new heights and deliver the album we all know they can.
Elsewhere, the group delivered an eye-opening documentary, Give Me Future, about their groundbreaking concert in Cuba, which attracted 500,000 people and saw the group become one of the first US acts to play in Cuba since diplomatic relations between the US and Cuba were reset under the Obama administration.
