Output — a software company who known for their pretty amazing virtual instruments — have taken their first foray into hardware with the release of a desk made for studio set-ups called Platform. In a departure from their usual products, Platform is a complete curve ball — when the company teased the release of a new hardware product many in the production community thought it was going to be a hardware synth, but how wrong we all were!
As the warm weather begins to take hold, Output in New York has unveiled its forthcoming line-up for its multi-level open-air roof terrace, The Roof.
From mid-May to late September, the popular New York nightclub will play host to the likes of Dyed Soundorom, D’Julz, Cassy, Matthew Dekay, Kenny Glasgow, Schwarzmann (live), Lee Foss and many more for the Sunday sessions.
On the Fridays, The Roof will play host to the likes of Penguin Prison, Roy Ayers, Amp Fiddler, Bedouin, Satori and many more.
DJ Harvey has announced a series of global residencies, including multiple dates at Ministry Of Sound, Concrete, Berghain, Output, De Marktkantine and Lux Fragil throughout 2017.
He’ll also have a hand in programming the support acts for each of the shows, and expects to play for between six to eight hours at each of the gigs.
In an interview with RA, Harvey said: "I honed my trade in nightclubs and warehouses and in many respects, it's where my heart lies and where I feel like I function best."
Analog Strings from Output is another quality release from the LA based company.
Output are known for their great sounding software instrument sample-based Plugins and Analog Strings is another that follows in the vein.
A combination of sampled orchestras and analog synth sounds go into the the make up of Analog strings, offering great depth and ability for producers to create some truly amazing string sounds, coupled with the FX and Modulation sources on the instrument. Anything from conventional to the weird and wonderful can be achieved with Analog Strings.
Output Brooklyn will host Seth Troxler, Laurent Garnier and more this weekend, running 27th and 28th January 2017.
Kicking off on Friday, 27th January, renowned DJ/producer and Output resident Seth Troxler along with his Tuskegee labelmate Phil Moffa will take over the main room.
Deep house duo Frank & Tony will perform in The Panther Room as well as Nicolas Matar and Willie Graff. Saturday, 28th January sees an extended set and rare US appearance by iconic French DJ/producer Laurent Garnier.
Kryder, the London native who has been making the rounds on a North American tour, just finished smashing the recent three-day installment of Groove Cruise, is bringing his trained sea legs to the concrete jungle for a special event at Brooklyn’s Output on the 15th of November.
