On the eve of Drumcode’s 20th anniversary, Adam Beyer sits down with DJ Mag to talk about his label, his family, and what’s possible when you believe in the power of music.
The artist’s green room in London’s Royal Albert Hall doesn’t quite match the scale of grandeur its main arena boasts. But for the talent fortunate enough to pace its floors in anticipation of a pending performance, it is special by association.
The room is bright, lit to assist the fine details of makeup and costume preparation. There is a cream-colored, tiled wall with a large clock hanging on it that reads 5:05pm and just beneath that, a simple black couch.
Las Vegas is hot. The air is hot, the ground is hot; even the decks are hot, with CDJs melting in the sun faster than blocks of ice in the desert. We find Carl Cox at the Flamingo, sitting by a pool in the shade, where it is also hot. Everyone sweats during EDC weekend in Sin City, no matter the hour or the venue.
A server saunters by and presents a glass of cold, rosé champagne to the music maestro. The bubbles glitter in the afternoon light, a soothing sight to any sun-wilted soul. Ever the gentleman, Carl offers us a glass.
“Actually, this is one of my most productive years so far.” Thomas Gold smiles broadly into the camera, his face framed by simple, black-rimmed glasses. It’s clear he’s having a good 2015.
There is a fine line between trying and doing. Alex Scholler, aka Alison Wonderland, is undoubtedly doing … and on her own terms. Effortlessly cool and blissfully self-aware, the young "love trap" luminary's multi-dimensional talent continues to amass swarms of international revellers who are magnetically drawn to her seductively electrifying vibes.

An impenetrable gate sits atop the steep inclined driveway of a Beverly Hills mansion, one in that city’s famed 90210 zip code. A sleepy-faced Jesse Calosso clicks a remote control and the gate swings ominously open.

“Hi! We’re at the airport again!” Liv pops up on the Skype screen, holding her phone at arm’s length while hurrying through a terminal in London’s Heathrow Airport.
“Mim’s on another call right now, so we’re tag teaming today,” Liv laughs. “I’m doing an interview with you, and she’s doing one with someone else.”
The NERVO sisters are en route to Germany.
