New record store to open in London this month
A new record store is opening in London in August.
Next Door Records will open in Shepherd’s Bush on Wednesday 12th August as a store, bar and café. After smashing its crowdfunding target of £3000, the three-man team behind the store promise to provide a “mixture of new and vintage vinyl which will span a variety of sounds for both the living room and the dancefloor.”
London club E1 calls for support with licensing application as it’s future “is at risk”
London club E1 has made an appeal for public support after its licence application for its new outdoor area, Site 5, was contested.
In a statement shared on its website, E1 has asked punters to email the club at info@e1-london.com and explain why they think approval for Site 5 is important not just for the survival of the club but for the local area in general.

Village Underground and EartH have launched a crowdfunding campaign to prevent closure.
The East London venues made the difficult decision to close their doors amid the coronavirus pandemic back in March, with the team sharing they would be focusing on "protecting the future of the venue, doing our best to help the livelihoods of our staff, and also protecting the future arts and music culture in London".
The electronic music exhibition at London’s Design Museum has opened
A programmed exhibition about the history of electronic music is opening today at London’s Design Museum.
The exhibition, titled ‘Electronic: From Kraftwerk to The Chemical Brothers’, was originally scheduled to take place from 1st April to 26th July, but was postponed in March as exhibition spaces closed their doors due to the spread of coronavirus.

FLOHIO has shared a new track and music video.
The South London MC, who teamed up with Mike Skinner of The Streets for his single 'How Long's It Been?' in July last year, has dropped a surprise new single, 'GLAMOURISED', alongside a youtube-exclusive video.
The track, produced by longtime collaborator HLMNSRA, features a dizzying, synth-heavy instrumental, with FLOHIO's hard-hitting flow and delivery in the spotlight on the dark visuals.
Banksy artwork on London Underground encourages mask-wearing
Banksy has visited the capital again, and this time, he's encouraging the use of face-masks amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In a video posted to Banksy's Instagram account, the elusive graffiti artist shared footage of London Underground being deep cleaned, before posing as a worker and spray painting the interior of a London Underground tube train.

Independent label Whities changes name to AD 93
Independent label Whities has changed its name to AD 93.
Nic Tasker, who founded Whities back in 2014 as a sub-label of Young Turks, said in a statement that the change from Whities to AD 93 would be immediate.
On Twitter, Tasker explained the origins of the name Whities, a play on YTs (Young Turks), had been introduced when the label became independent in 2017.
Save Nour campaign launched to stop Brixton Market eviction by DJ landlord
A campaign has been launched to stop Brixton market mainstay, Nour, from eviction by its landlord.
Texan property developer Taylor McWilliams, who also DJs under the name Taylor HK and is part of DJ trio Housekeeping, bought the legendary Brixton Village and Market Row for £37.25 million in 2018.
Now, amid the coronavirus pandemic and despite a three month rent holiday, Nour has been served with an eviction date of 22nd July from McWilliams.
