On Saturday 2nd May, a new dance festival will land somewhere between Southampton and the New Forest named Soundclash.
Presented by Warehouse events and the people behind Switch nightclub, the one-day start-up will anchor five different stages showcasing a variety of in-demand talent. Gorgon City, Hannah Wants, Shadow Child, DJ EZ, My Nu Leng, Kindnap Kid and Woz all take to the decks on the main stage, supported by local residents and DJs.
BigCityBeats have just announced that Space, Ibiza will join in one of Europe’s coolest big cities for annual festival WORLD CLUB DOME. The festival will take over the gargantuan Commerzbank Arena and turn it into the world's biggest club!
Before Sander Kleinenberg hops on the decks for a six-hour set at the freshly minted Space Ibiza New York, DJ Mag sits him down for a head to head of our own. For those of you that miss the mystique and grandeur of the former New York Club experience circa ’80s-’90s, Space NYC brings back the key elements (sound system and dance floor experience) Gotham once prided itself on.
Rich, luscious, gorgeously multi-layered techno and house. Pumping and searing through the Balearic night. Gripping our senses and tugging us deeper onto the dancefloor. We're caught in a pulsating slipstream and we don't want it to ever stop. That's Space Closing Fiesta for you, the best party in the world. This year they've been celebrating their 25th anniversary, and who better to bring their season to a close than the mighty Carl Cox?
More than thirty acts have been confirmed for Ibiza’s most famous closing party - Space Closing Fiesta. The event, which takes place on Sunday October 5th, concludes the club’s 25th anniversary - in a year that was made extra special by their reclaiming of the Top 100 Clubs crown.
Tomorrow night sees Manchester crew Kaluki make their We Love… Ibiza debut. The club brand - who formed in 2006 as one of the final parties of the original Sankeys Soap (later Sankeys) in Manchester, have teamed up with The Warehouse Project to bring a diverse and exciting line up to one of the island’s best loved clubs.
The main line up features the wonky electronic aesthetics of Nicolas Jaar alongside bass icon Joy Orbison and resurgent house don Kerri Chandler.
We throw back to the last Ibiza season summer 2013 to have another listen to this gorgeous mix from Bicep. Deep techno vibes aplenty, this mix is perfect listening for chilling in the sun on a lazy Thursday afternoon, or indeed warming up for a big night out if you're that way inclined!
Including tracks by Jesse Perez, Move D, Deetron, and Kink, if this doesn't put you in a good mood — we don't know what will.
In 1989, established Ibiza nightclub owner Pepe Rosello took over a venue in the Playa d'en Bossa area that used to be a conference hall with a discotheque.
Re-naming it Space, it initially benefited from the dance music boom of the late eighties that saw various European DJs visit the island and return home to their countries to kick off a scene.
Ibiza 2014 is shaping up to be one of the best seasons yet. Despite the island being in a state of flux, the crowds at opening weekend were strong and there is excitement on the island about the evolving face of Ibiza.
At the start of the month we were on the island for IMS and Space Opening Party - the unofficial curtain raiser for the season.
