Scene stalwarts Defected Records have been repositioning themselves of late, picking up on the movers from the deep and tech house underground and pushing them out to a more mainstream audience.
They have now announced that Danish tech houser, Noir is mixing the latest 'In The House' compilation.
The double CD, released on Jan 28th features tracks from Nina Kraviz, Nick Curly, Yousef, dOP and Noir himself.
Daley Padley has always been a music junkie. “My mother has the most eclectic record collection in the world,” he tells DJ Mag. “That’s where my passion comes from, really.”
On his first day at secondary school, his teacher went around the class individually asking the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up. “When he reached me I said 'A DJ',” Daley says. “He laughed and said, 'I think you should really reconsider'.”
Jamie Jones has launched an offshoot to his wildly sucessful Hot Creations inprint with self-produced three-track EP.
Hottrax, will apparently be "dedicated to a more underground dance floor orientated aesthetic" and will be "only for the headstrong!"
Jones first referenced the launch of a new label while responding to claims that he was 'selling out' after Hot Natured's 'Benediction' made it into the UK Top 40 charts.
