Detroit legend speaks out

Robert Hood was a member of Underground Resistance, the legendary militant visionary techno collective from Detroit. After leaving UR in the early 1990s, Robert pioneered a minimalist form of techno — along with Daniel Bell, Richie Hawtin etc — in reaction to the increasingly hardcore “too ravey” twists and turns that techno was taking.

Belgium's techno heart

Token Records began in 2007, the brainchild of Belgian DJ/producer Kr!z. Kr!z is the resident DJ at the legendary Kozzmozz parties in Ghent — the Belgian town that's been so crucial to the longevity of techno in Europe over the last 20 years or so. It's been notable for putting out a lot of quality techno vinyl over the past few years.

The Social Festival, taking place at the beautiful Mote Park of Maidstone, Kent at the end of September. Not only was he born and raised in Maidstone, Fanciulli cites the town as the source of his musical inspirations, taking him back to the early days out clubbing with friends and discovering his passion for house and techno.

Tini Günter, better known by her stage name, tINI, is one of Germany's best-loved DJs. A well-established member of Loco Dice's Desolat family, she's been a lynchpin of the label's much renowned showcases — as well as their affiliated Artist Alife agency — for nigh on five years. A DJ of considerable repute, she's also a dab hand in the studio, as her 2011 long-player, 'Tessa', aptly demonstrated.
