The first album from Gaia, the collaborative effort of Armin van Buuren and Benno de Goeij, will land next week.
Announcing the news via his A State Of Trance podcast after teasing new material, Armin van Buuren shared the album would feature "Twenty-one brand new tracks ranging in styles from ambient, chill out, melodic techno to trance."
Armin Van Buuren and Above & Beyond will team up for a one-off party at Ibiza's Ushuaïa this summer.
On Friday 12th July the trance legends will touch down at the open air venue, with support coming from Ruben de Ronde and Estiva, who are both residents at Armin Van Buuren's Hï Ibiza residency and Armada Music affiliates.
The Night League, the team behind the Ushuaïa Ibiza events, have promised "huge anthems, many exclusives, massive pyrotechnics and a simply unbeatable atmosphere for this unmissable date for the trance master."
Armin van Buuren has teased new music under his elusive Gaia alias, something fans have been hoping would happen for some time.
The downtempo, synth-heavy sample shared on socials is backed with live footage from a full Gaia performance and the hashtag #MoonsOfJupiter. Last summer it was suggested via Twitter that an announcement about the project was coming.
Armin van Buuren has locked the full line-up for his Hï Ibiza residency this season.
The A State of Trance founder has confirmed a host of genre stalwarts including Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Vini Vici, Ben Nicky and Cosmic Gate.
The second room will be hosted by Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, with confirmed guests such as Fedde Le Grand, DJ Mag favourite Lost Frequencies and Roger Sanchez b2b Kirsten Knight.
Ferry Corsten has announced a new single under his legendary Gouryella alias. ‘Surga’ is his first new track under the moniker in over two years and will be released this Friday 3rd May via Flashover Recordings.
The trance icon has been steadily releasing tracks on his own as Gouryella over the past number of years – such as 2017’s ‘Venera (Vee’s Theme)’ and 2016’s ‘Neba’.
Paul van Dyk has dropped a new trance anthem ahead of his forthcoming SHINE Ibiza residency.
Teaming up with label-mate Alex M.O.R.P.H., the seven-minute track can be streamed below or on other streaming platforms here.

Taking classics from trance’s golden age and recontextualising them for the modern dancefloor? In the wrong hands, this concept could spell danger: crass, overly nostalgic and about as necessary or appropriate as an EDM reboot of Human Traffic. In the right hands, though, there’s a whole new lifecycle and exciting set of dots to join. Less of a recontextualisation, more an entirely new context; it’s a story that now goes two generations deep, it maps the changes in dancefloor culture and it marks a much broader musical shift in electronic music in general.
“I find the breakbeat brings things down a level, it’s easier to slow things down that way,” says McCartney, who tends to describe Trance Wax as a breakbeat act rather than a trance act. It makes sense; the whole reason for this project is versatility. Trance Wax isn’t about nostalgia, or trance for trance’s sake. It’s about bringing certain aspects of it back into the mix because they work, they’re relevant and worth revisiting.
