First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced that nightclubs in Scotland will be allowed to reopen on Monday 24th January.
Ms Sturgeon confirmed in a statement yesterday (18th January) that the easing of Covid-19 restrictions will go ahead next week after a "significant fall" in new cases of the virus.
Attendance limits on indoor events, which forced nightclubs to close, were put in place on the 27th December in response to rising Omicron cases across the country.
Rappers including Jay-Z, Meek Mill and Big Sean among others are campaigning for a new law that would limit the use of rap lyrics as evidence in court.
The proposed New York state law aims to stop prosecutors from using defendants’ rap lyrics as evidence of alleged crimes. Jay-Z is encouraging other musicians to add their names to an open letter calling for lawmakers to pass the bill. Artists including Fat Joe and Kelly Rowland have also added their names to the list so far.
A new East London record fair will take place this weekend.
Taking place at Hackney venue, Oslo, the free record fair this Saturday (22nd) from 12 to 6PM.
Stalls at the fair include Next Door Records, Ninja Tune, Partisan Records, La Vida Es Un Mus, Tome Records, Third Man Records among others. There will also be live music from many of the stalls with Next Door Recordings holding a set from 1 to 2PM.
