Muted.io has launched a free online drum synth, Kick Drum Generator, which allows you to generate free synthesised kick drum and bass drum sounds.
Users can play around with the parameters (tuning, pitch decay, attack, release, distortion and bit crushing, gain and compression) to create and download a custom drum sound as a WAV. Visit the muted.io site here to make your own.

To celebrate 909 Day last year, electronics and software engineer Matthew Cieplak developed a browser-based virtual analogue instrument based on the classic Roland TR-909. The ER-99 drum machine is used by pressing the number buttons on your keyboard and turning the knobs to change the sound of each instrument.
Last year also saw the launch of a new browser-based tool that lets you generate 30 seconds of squelchy audio and spiralling, tripped-out visuals based on the TB-303. Created with Tone.js in collaboration with algorithmic visual artist Jeffrey Ventrella, each 30-second Acid Hit is described as "a love letter to the Roland TB-303 Bass Synthesizer".
