A new instant DJ classic - Rane have taken the fight to the 2-channel mixer brigade with the release of the MP2014 Rotary mixer. Yes, Rane pulled this one out of the bag at the NAMM show in LA and by the hoards of DJs and dance music technology lovers hanging around Rane’s booth eager to get hands on with this new mixer I guess that the MP2014 is going to make just as big a splash as its older brother the MP2015.
The MP2014 is a 2-channel rotary mixer designed for ‘the uncompromising professional DJ who only needs two channels but requires the utmost in technology, simplicity, reliability and portability’
The MP2014 shares the same technology used in their flagship MP2015 model, it is another beautiful looking bit of kit that borrows straight from the design cues of the MP2015. The wooden panels that adorn the side of the main body of the mixer give it a cool retro inspired look. Minimal black faceplate with black and silver coloured knobs make for a fresh, uncluttered layout.
The MP2014 has two USB ports for connecting two laptops to the mixer, four switchable inputs for a multitude of connection options, with the ability for the DJ to set up the mixer for different music genres by allowing them to adjust the Filters, EQs and Isolator, to their particular need and style. If that is not enough it also comes fully loaded with dual 16 channel USB sound cards as well as additional optical in and outs.
