Roland launches microsite to celebrate 303 day
It features the story of the TB-303 plus videos and presets from DJ Pierre
Roland has launched a new microsite featuring the history of the 303, as well as new interviews with acid house innovator DJ Pierre. The new site – to celebrate 303 Day, March 3rd – tells the story of how the 303 was designed, how Chicago innovators Phuture re-invented the 303 at the centre of acid house and how it grew to become the defining sound of the late ’80s, early ’90s electronic music.
The microsite also features various sources where you can try out the 303 sound, be it on an original, one of Roland’s own clones, via their Roland Cloud plugin service or the Roland50 Studio in your browser.
Acid innovator DJ Pierre also spoke to Roland in a series of new interviews, talking about how they made early acid house records and providing some new prests and patches for Roland’s modern synths.
