Websynths is the browser-based modular synth you need to see

There goes your lunch break!

Websynths is a cool new online browser-based synth and it is pretty damn good. In fact, it sounds awesome!

Instead of focusing on the next batch of online tech news, we found ourselves playing out riff after riff on the synth which comes with over 100 presets, and covers everything from phat bass beats to dreamy pads and arpeggiated sounds.

The sounds and parameters can be tweaked and modulated, just like a proper hardware synth. We connected it up to our speaker set-up and MIDI keyboard to test it out, but you don’t have to go this fancy to have fun with Websynths as each preset is mapped out to the keys of your computer and can be played back via the inbuilt speakers.

Websynths works best using Chrome browser (it does work with Safari but MIDI seems to be a little temperamental) — basically, just visit the site and away you go.

On doing a bit more research DJ Mag tech also discovered few more web-based synths as part of this community: check out TanGuy and Eve Synth for more browser fun!
