This is the best value digital DJ package on the planet. The interface works as a Midi controller for other software too and there's a soundcard built in.

The Ecler Nuo-4 has a fifth MIDI channel and aux input for DJ software. It also has kill EQ and scratch friendly crossfader control.

The Alcatech Digiscratch 2 offers advanced mixing controls, such as sampling, looping, and flexible interface schemes.

A&H Xone:VF-1

One of the best sounding filters on the planet, this bad boy is as good in the studio as it is with decks. It's got loads of options and tricks, but can be a bit daunting at first.

A&H Xone:92

One of the slickest analogue DJ mixers around, the Xone:92 features basic Midi control and its famous filters and four-band EQ.

The Allen & Heath Xone:62 has effects routing, great twin filters and awesome sound quality. One for clubs and adventurous bedroom DJs.

Rane Serato Scratch Live

The scratch DJs favourite, Rane's Serato Scratch Live is the best sounding scratch for turntablists. The only downfall is that it doesn't have many features.

Pioneer EFX-1000

This is the serious remixing tool with great loop sampling performances possible. The effects are some of the best around and there are two areas to play with too.

Pioneer DJM-1000

This mixer is huge and features the highest spec on the market of digital mixers. It has connections for new Pioneer products including a digital link to the EFX-1000 FX.

Gemini iKey

The iKey is the missing link between your DJ mixer and a flash memory stick. It will convert the audio and record it as Wav or MP3 to any USB device, including iPods!

Stanton Finalscratch 2

The original innovator in this dimension, FinalScratch 2 implements a high quality interface with Midi, soundcard, Mic and Aux inputs, plus an advanced application.

Alesis Ineko

Recently discontinued, but still out there is this cute little multi effects. It has loads of effects types, plenty of control, but can be a bit tricky to use in the dark.

A&H Xone:3D

Digital DJs never had it so good with this Midi machine. It's based around the Xone:92 but with two massive Midi control areas and a built-in sound card.

Pioneer DJM-909

The DJM-909 has two individual effects units (one per channel) controlled by a touch-sensitive illuminated screen. It offers the coolest effects around.

Arkaoss VJ 3

Arkaoss VJ works on Mac and PC, has an intuitive and easy to use interface with loads of features. Looks a bit dated these days and is quite pricey.

Korg Kaoss Pad 2

This one can make sounds like you've spent weeks locked in a dark room with hundreds of plugins just by stroking its X/Y pad. Great for live sets and whacky DJs.

Pioneer DJM-800

A revolutionary mixer with harmonic mixing, filters on every channel plus a good effects section. Every control sends Midi and its digital architectures sounds great.

Urei 1601S

The Urei 1601S has the most advanced on-board sampler of any mixer with automatic pitch control of looped samples. It could do with more filter types though.

Modul8

One for the really advanced VJ who wants to get their hands dirty, Modul8 has ten-layer mixing, Alpha channel support and 3D wizardry. It's a very innovative option.

Red Sound SoundBITE XL

The best looping sampler there is, this unit can take up to six loops and play them perfectly in synch. Also pitches to the BPM and nudges help beatmatching.

Numark DXM-09

A three-channel mixer with great effects that can add some controlled flare to your mix. The sound quality is pretty good for the price and it features digital faders.

Vestax PMC-08 Pro

The PMC-08 Pro is loaded with connections, featuring two advanced effects loops. It also has outstanding sound from two EQ modes, plus a smooth adjustable crossfader.
