Batofar
41

A converted lighthouse boat that lies on the banks of the Parisian river Seine, Le Batofar has been a beacon for progressive alternative music of all stripes for over a decade now. Made infamous as the sound of the Parisian underground through Dan Ghenacia's legendary Sunday after-hours Kwality between 1998 and 2002, Le Batofar maintains a strong connection with Ghenacia who returns to host a series of Thursday night Freak 'n' Chic parties here every summer. But while deep and dark house remains a staple of the Batofar, everything from dubstep to death metal gets played here. Gus Gus, The Freestylers and minimal techno originator Daniel Bell have all appeared in the past year.
