The pet project of Beatport boss Brad Roulier, Denver club Beta has basically rewritten the rulebook for club design since opening in 2008.
With a 90% green rating, its the most eco-friendly club on the planet with surfaces made out of recycled concrete, acoustic panelling from old denim jeans, mirrors from reformed glass and LED signs running on low voltage.
Thankfully, the same futuristic approach has been transferred to the sound - the obsessively fine-tuned Funktion 1 system is so powerful it can easily fill the room at just 40% sound - while a cutting-edge but cross-genre booking policy means that Fake Blood, The Juan McLean, David Guetta, Starkey and Damian Lazarus have all played this year.
"Beta is a DJ's wet dream" says Deamau5. "The DJ booth is like a club in itself, and vibe and energy in the rest of the club is intense. I really wouldn't expect anything less from the Beatport lot."
