D-Edge
7

Since opening in 2003, D-Edge has really helped put Brazil on the map as a forward-thinking electronic music haven. Still helmed by DJ Renato Ratier, its futurist interior - mainly consisting of a whole load of LED panels around the long rectangular space that pulsate in time to the beat - marks it out as somewhere to really appreciate the subtle nuances of assorted electronica. In terms of the music policy, the technoscenti of Ellen Allien, Hell, Funk D'Void, Loco Dice, Josh Wink, Solomun have all played here in recent months, although cats like Larry Heard are enticed into its DJ booth if D-Edge gets wind of them. A Skolbeats after-party venue fave, D-Edge really is cutting edge.
