WHQ
| NEW ENTRY

From the carefully painted murals to the reams of heritage record sleeves behind the bar, every last detail about Newcastle's World Headquarters tells you this is a labour of love rather than a vehicle for profit. Fiercely underground, totally intimate and run by music lovers, WHQ is like the perfect house party with DJs like Dixon, Martyn, Joker, Paul Woolford and Aeroplane playing for nights like Deviate (bass music), Habit (nu-disco and deep house) and Shindig (house and techno).

"We've used the venue since we started and love the intimate feel of the space," says Shindig promoter Scott Bradford. "As a DJ you're always right up close to the crowd which really helps with the atmosphere and the management do everything to make us and the clubbers welcome."
