WITH an open air dancefloor smack in the middle of Croatia's Beach Zrce, Papaya is a great place to shake your, um, papayas. The dress code here is bikinis, short shorts, no shirts and shades. Big enough to hold three-stage dance festivals with the party sometimes extending out to floating rafts in the surf, people from all over Europe gather to dance, drink and slather on the suntan oil. DJs spin "music to dry hump to", so unsurprisingly the club has become a popular destination for young people looking for a debauched summer beach party.

"Papaya was insane," notes DJ David Morales, who played there in summer 2010. "Even in the pouring rain. I've never seen anything like this. Croatia rocks." Throughout the summer, Papaya will host many events and festivals, featuring such big-name DJs as Deadmau5, Armin van Buuren, Sven V?, Size Matters and Gareth Emery. In August, the club will host the MTV DJmag Festival with Swedish House Mafia.
