Since launching in 2010, XOYO has built its way up to become one of London’s best-loved nightclubs and one of multiple jewels in the crown of owners The Columbo Group, who also run other hotspots in the city such as Brixton’s Phonox and Camden’s Jazz Cafe. Over the last 12 months, the Old Street venue has had a complete makeover, most crucially with the movement of the DJ booths.

The adjustments have refocused the dancefloor, freeing up space while simultaneously creating a more intimate experience. Spread over two contrasting rooms — the stark Basement (downstairs, unsurprisingly) and luscious, foliage-topped Green Room (ground floor) — nights are powered by d&b audiotechnik sound.

Fridays are devoted to the now-famous residencies, which have included Bradley Zero, Calibre, Dekmantel Soundsystem and Dusky inviting a slew of incredible guests since this time last year.  Saturdays, meanwhile, have become home to the new Pleasurehood events, which offer an alternative to pricey headliner-clogged nights via £5 tickets and a rotating line-up of residents in Joshua James, Eliza Rose, Hifi Sean, Cimmerii and Luke Solomon.
