"It's been a crazy year," relays UK trance innovator Gareth Emery. "My podcast was nominated as best podcast at the International Dance Music Awards in Miami, I've been touring non-stop, and Moldova a few weeks back was insane. It was the first time they'd ever had a foreign trance DJ out there. I was expecting a club for 150 people - it turned out to be a 14,000 outdoor festival!"
At this year's Trance Energy, Gareth became the first UK artist bar Oakenfold to play the spectacular 30,000 Dutch rave.
"I think I only realised just how important that gig was when I played Menno De Jong's Intuition beach party in Amsterdam later in the year," explains Emery. "So many people came up to me saying they had specifically traveled to see my set off the back of the Trance Energy gig."

With the frantic globe-trotting putting the breaks on his intended solo album, Emery will end 2007 with a retrospective 'Podcast Annual' CD, as well as watching his big single 'More Than Anything' fly his flag further.
"I was nervous as vocal tracks either fly or bomb usually," admits Emery. "But Van Buuren, Tiësto, Corsten and Jules have all been caning it."
