It's been another busy year for Polish-born, US-raised techno DJ Magda. One of the key players in contemporary minimal techno and a close friend and associate of Richie Hawtin, Magda's technology-driven, bumping bass sets saw her travel the world this year, spinning at well-known clubs like DC-10, Panorama Bar and Robert Johnson, as well as at festivals in Norway, Romania, Switzerland and Serbia.

Magda captured her distinctive DJ sound on her first mix CD, 'She's A Dancing Machine', on Hawtin's Minus label in 2006, and this year, she performed with the tight Minus crew in the label's first Ibiza party at Sven Väth's Cocoon night at Amnesia.

While she didn't release any of her own productions over the past 12 months, she was responsible for a number of remixes, including the moody reshape of Heartthrob's 'Baby Kate', a version of one of Troy Pierce's tracks from his Louderbach project and Ryan Crosson's 'Gotham Road' on Trapez.
Magda's label, Items & Things, which she runs together with Troy Pierce and Marc Houle, has also just put out a second split-release EP, 'Spies and Lies', featuring tracks from Houle and Alexi Delano, as well as contributions from upcoming producers Thrill Cosby and Kasper.
