Laidback Luke
| NEW ENTRY

"I've seen my international DJ career take off this year and it was a dream come true!" gushes Philippines-born, Dutch-bred housecat Luke van Scheppingen. He's sitting on top of the world - and with good reason. Previously known primarily as the producer behind such stormers as last year's Steve Angello collaboration 'Be', he's recently begun to incorporate elements of ghetto house and B-More into his DJ sets, rocking venues all over the globe. "This year's been about introducing the DJ side of Laidback Luke to the world. It was amazing to finally showcase my DJ abilities past the Dutch boundaries!" Inspired by the likes of Diplo and Crookers, the former graffiti artist has found a new way to combine his beloved hip-hop and house in a fresh way. "I'm getting more into the Baltimore and fidget kind of things. Getting back to blending my hip-hop and Daft Punk roots into the big room sound!" The next step is incorporating those aspects into his productions. "I've got loads of stuff coming," enthuses Luke. "There's a collaboration with Roman Salzger called 'Generation Noise' and the track I did with A-Trak, 'Shake It Down', is bubbling really well at the moment."
