Famed for his Pacha and Space residencies in Ibiza, and headlining gigs wherever he goes, Wally Lopez is still buzzing from the most prestigious support slot of his career so far for a certain mega popstar. "Being Madonna's support on her Spanish tour was great," Lopez says. "I'm a huge fan of hers so it was exciting to be her guest artist." Indeed, appearing as the Queen of pop's guest was only one of many great moments that Lopez enjoyed in 2008. "Doing a back-to-back set with Danny Tenaglia and being resident with him at Space, Ibiza, every week was amazing. And headlining Rock in Rio, Madrid, Monegros Desert Festival, the opening Fiesta at Space and Creamfields, Spain, all stood out." No stranger to the turntables - he began DJing at the age of 13 - Wally Lopez can easily lay claim to being one of Spain's most famed DJs, with an ever-increasing number of overseas gigs, and his Máxima FM radio show attracting over 300,000 listeners every Friday. Meanwhile, Wally's productions have gone from strength-to-strength with his remixes of Mark Knight's 'Shogun', Claude VonStroke's 'Who's Afraid of Detroit?' and Moguai's 'Kick Out The Jams' all doing the business in 2008, as well as the monstrous 'Rock The Box' collaboration with Ismael Rivas, which smashed all comers with its electro-infused house grooves. The next step for Lopez is to take his labels to another level. "I want to put The Factoria and all its sister labels in the right place they should be," he says.
