Luciano
| RE-ENTRY

When DJmag catches up with Lucien Nicolet, he's in the middle of a discussion about house, but not the kind that he plays at the world's best clubs every weekend. No, Luciano has just bought a new abode in Geneva and is consulting with his architect. It's a relaxingly mundane change in what has been a whirlwind year for the Swiss-Chilean DJ/producer. 2009 saw him tour extensively across Europe with AEther, a minimal techno super group he performs in with Reboot, Lee Van Dowksi, Digitaline and Mirko Loko - who all release on his Cadenza label. "It took me around three years to get it together and now we need to modify the sound for club gigs," he explains. Luciano also released an artist album, 'Tribute To The Sun' this year, his first long player since 2004's superlative 'Blind Behaviour'. "It was just a collection of music that I had been working on in recent years," Luciano says nonchalantly. Cadenza has a series of EPs and an album by Reboot planned for the coming months, but in the meantime, Luciano is the subject of a documentary film. Given away as a DVD with the 'Tribute' album, he says that it's "a little bonus for fans."
