To say that Marco V has been prolific this year would be something of an understatement. The veteran Dutch DJ/producer has released eight singles on his In Charge label that join the dots between energetic trance, big room techno and electro. He also released his 'Propaganda' album. And although he's one of the world's most popular spinners, Marco says that his favourite event this year was Mysteryland in Holland. "Go and see yourself next year," he says. While he says that his DJ sound is slower than before, Marco firmly believes that "it's definitely got the same energy as it's always had". He also sees the role of the DJ changing and feels that the boundaries will continue to blur between producer and performer. "In five years' time, everyone is going to be DJing with Ableton or something similar," he predicts. "The whole DJ/producer thing is going to be much bigger in the future. You cannot get away anymore with playing other people's records and becoming the hero DJ - you have to make your own now," he advises. Taking his own advice to heart, 2010 will see Marco release the second instalment of the 'Propaganda' album series on In Charge.
