The last few years haven't exactly been quiet for veteran German trance duo Cosmic Gate, but 2011 saw them pick up the pace again. “Overall the year was super-busy but very inspiring,” they confirm. As well as extensive global touring, 2011 saw Cosmic Gate finish their fifth artist album, 'Wake Your Mind'. “We put a lot of soul and heart into it,” say the duo. They also found immediate success with their reworking of Jurgen Vries' 'The Theme', which hit the Beatport trance charts at No.1 and quickly became one of their biggest live tracks. Cosmic Gate also experienced their “best Ibiza season yet”, playing Space, Privilege, Sankey's and Eden. “We had the feeling Ibiza was picking up compared to the last few years,” they say, “and as the island is always a good indicator for the EDM scene, we think it is a good sign for a great 2012 in clubland worldwide.” It's hard not to agree with them.
