André Tanneberger's back catalogue stands as a testament to his continuing productivity, with eight studio albums and six mix compilations spanning a successful 15-year international career. Part of that success is down to a long-standing refusal to be pigeonholed. "I don't think, and never thought, that it's important to compartmentalise electronic music in different genres," he tells DJ Mag.

"A mixture of different styles is much more interesting than just one style." Naming playing a set at the iconic Cocoon Club in Frankfurt as a particular highlight of 2012, ATB also continues to break new ground with his touring. When pressed to choose the most interesting place that he visited for the first time this year, he tells us, "Taiwan was a really great experience, the crowd was amazing." Although you wouldn't guess it from his work schedule, this year also saw some rare personal downtime for André.

"This year was more relaxed, I took some time off for my family and for me to recharge my batteries. 2013 will be a great year with lots of interesting projects." This includes plans for a brand new album and of course, as he confirms, "I will be on tour a lot."
