Diederik Bakker and Stefan den Daas began their partnership in 2004, taking inspiration from Bakker's father's musicianship and the happy hardcore scene.

Describing their vision of hardstyle as "filling in the gap between trance and hardcore", the pair tell DJ Mag "it is really cool to see this scene growing to where it is now. It is not the easiest music to listen to, but it is for sure the best music to lose yourself to on a night off!" Namechecking DJ The Prophet, DJ Dana and Technoboy as hardstyle pioneers, the duo don't hold back when it comes to embracing new techniques.

"We are playing with SD cards," they say. "Love it! Never looked back since the vinyls. 0.5 kg of music to take with us is heaven on Earth!" With 2012 highlights including their set at Gelredome in Arnhem - "always a pleasure to get on stage in this amazing stadium," they say - their plans for next year are simply to "make a lot of cool music!"
