Questions Top100 DJs 2012 - admin - 2015-06-30 17:11

There are only two types of music, good and bad. There's no line I won't cross if I like what I've created.
Best known for:
'Shooting Stars' (album)
Tune of the year:
M83 'Midnight City (Eric Prydz Private Remix)'
Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2012:
Tom Fall
If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be:
Probably a vampire, maybe that dude from Twilight. What girl doesn't want that guy?
Should you play to the crowd or for yourself:
If you're playing for yourself and the crowd likes it, then you're a real artist who's worthy of your fans.
What does EDM mean to you:
Electronic Dance Music! No seriously, it's my life.
Should celebrities be DJs:
As long as they have talent. If you're talking about Paris Hilton then no, she shouldn't. They're giving a bad name to a real art form.
Have you ever been thrown off the decks:
Not yet, thankfully!
Are you a DJ if you don't beat match:
Are you a cook if you use microwave meals? Kind of, I guess. It's just easier.
Where's the next dance music capital:
I really hope it's in the Ukraine. People who know me will know why.

In the midst of a huge world tour, tyDi proves difficult to pin down. We catch him while he's in Israel, following a long flight from the US and prior to another one to the Czech Republic. There's little more proof needed of just how huge a year Tyson Illingworth has had. So how has 2012 been? "Incredible as always! I've visited new countries and written loads of new songs and remixes," he says.

"I can't complain. I've also been working on music with some bands that I've always dreamed of collaborating with," he says mysteriously. "You'll find out who they are soon!" tyDi's also notched up another important ambition. "I succeeded at the cinnamon challenge," he says, proving that his talents stretch further even than we thought!
