“It’s been the classic musician life of performing and locking myself up in the studio,” says Oliver Heldens when DJ Mag asks how he’s spent 2017. The Dutchman, who — decked out in his best Miami-ready gear — graced our cover back in March, spilling the beans on what it’s like to see so much success at such a young age. Since then he’s been dropping releases left, right and centre, such as ‘I Don’t Wanna Go Home’, ‘’Ibiza 77 (Can You Feel It)’, plus ‘Men On Mars’ and ‘Alien Technology’ under his HI-LO alias.

And Ollie’s been hitting the road hard throughout the summer, with a huge mainstage set at Tomorrowland and Electric Forest in the US (a personal favourite, he admits). “Another highlight this year was my residency in Ibiza [at Ushuaia], which took up a large chunk of my summer,” says Oli. “I lived there in between gigs, so it was nice to have my own place and not be stuck in hotel rooms the whole time.” Not a bad lot for young Mr Heldens, then. The only question now is, which classic pop anthems will he mash-up in 2018?
