Claptone

Part mythical being, part bird, part massive golden hooter, ALL DJ: the mysterious mask-wearing house-weaver Claptone has levelled up once again. After charming 2018 with his highly anticipated second album ‘Fantast’, he dived beak-deep into 2019 with a whole flight of major league remixes – Florence & The Machine, Mark Ronson, Marina & The Diamonds, Michael Kiwanuka – and one of the most intense and hectic schedules of his career so far.

Amid his 250-show schedule, the anonymous Berlin-based artist took his feel-good house sound across the world and back. Many of these shows were at his own party The Masquerade where he held events from Melbourne to Montreal via Lima, London, Paris and of course Ibiza, where his vibrant event had another successful White Isle season.

Held every Monday at Pacha, with thoughtfully-curated line-ups comprising legends such as Armand Van Helden, Todd Terry, Maya Jane Coles, Basement Jaxx and MK, the events were one of the island’s biggest success stories this summer and represent just why Claptone’s been on such a wild accelerated rise since he first emerged in 2013. Long may this continue.
