The Arches

An institution like few others, The Arches has been Scotland’s big room bedrock of edge-cutting clubbing for as long as we can remember, with cavernous arches that drip with debauchery and a clued crowd hungry to shower themselves in it.

Whilst Colours Boxing Day sessions here are stuff of legend, it’s Slam’s Pressure that has created the most lasting legacy, with Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills and Adam Beyer amongst the many international regulars.

“Ten years ago the idea was to bring the vibe of clubs we were playing in Europe back to Glasgow,” explains Slam’s Stuart McMillan. “Pressure at The Arches is our spiritual home and it’s what we measure all our other gigs against.”
