Amsterdam’s compact canal-side streets might be laden with clubs but none inspire the same sense of theatre and magic as the ancient church Paradiso. Over the years its dramatic encircling balconies and illuminating church windows have witnessed concerts from The Rolling Stones and Nirvana, but now habitually welcome acts as diverse as Skream, Richie Hawtin and Cut Copy.

“Paradiso is one of those places that has had such a history in pop music that you almost feel humble being there,” says Mason. “When it goes off, there isn't a better Dutch club than Amsterdam's No.1 music temple."
