Seoul’s rapidly growing club scene was injected with a massive boost when the futuristic, purpose-built M2 opened last winter. It’s a neo-industrial warehouse hangar that combines a crystal-clear thumping soundsystem with a lighting rig fit for stadium gigs. Lil’ Louie Vega, Basement Jaxx and French house/electro pusher Alex Gopher have all played there.

“At a time when house music is being taken for granted by seen-it-and-done-it-all punters, M2 and its crowd is a really humbling experience,” says Grant Nelson.
