Lee Burridge recently described San Fran as having the potential to become America's clubbing equivalent to Berlin. And one venue that has been doing it here since the start is 1015.

Opening way back in 1986, 1015 was San Fran's must-stop spot across the '90s and it remains a solid bet. Over the years The Chemical Brothers, Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier and Jesse Rose have played, as well as a host of trance jocks.

"It's one of those places that you would drive past in the street as it doesn't look like a club," explains John '00' Fleming. "But that instantly filters out the drunk idiots staggering in from downtown bars. Instead, you always get a club full of dedicated clubbers, as you need to go out of your way to find this place!"
