Nation
| NEW ENTRY

Back in the mid to late-'90s Nation ruled the nation. On the trance side, Paul Oakenfold's weekly residency for Cream made it the most fanatically attended superclub on the planet, while Bugged Out!'s eclectic parties hit with some of the most forward-thinking line-ups of their time.

But while no longer quite as potent, the huge Liverpool venue remains a contemporary force as well as a historical one. Still Cream's venue of choice for their more sporadic events, Nation is also regularly called upon by the two promotions that have pushed Liverpool's club scene into the noughties - Yousef's Circus and the playful eclectic anarchy of Chibuku - which means names as varied and impressive as Luciano, Dubfire, Sven Väth, David Guetta, Delphic (live), Modeselektor and Chase & Status have all played in the past 12 months.
