Corsica Studios

REGARDLESS of the implications of its namesake, Corsica Studios is not a set of studios (we prefer the term dancefloors) situated on an Italian island in the Med. Granted. OK, so it might host the odd art exhibition, but DJmag's main concern is the more regular, slightly more appealing offerings - the all-consuming shit-hot parties that consistently invite the best in dubstep, bass, garage, house, techno and d&b underneath its grime-ridden railway arches every weekend. Flagship event Trouble Vision is the main offender, lining up the best of underground house, techno and bass on a monthly basis, with the likes of Move D, Maya Jane Coles, Ramadanman and Motor City Drum Ensemble featuring in recent months. Midweek underground bass event Boiler Room is one of the best of its kind, rivaled only by Plastic's FWD, while Lowlife is arguably the most revered disco event in the UK. Hence justifying Corsica's position in this month's poll, and we haven't even mentioned the badass soundsystem...
