WHILE Middlesbrough is hardly the UK's most coveted underground house scene, line-ups over at The Arena in recent months seem to suggest otherwise. Appearances from Deniz Kurtel, No Regular Play, Le Loup and Damien Lazarus in recent months unleashed the sort of electronic subversion expected of club spots as developed as London or Berlin, but not Middlesbrough - a large industrial town deep within the gusty climes of North Yorkshire. Promotions teams Re-Volt, S.O.S, Label and, more recently, Louche have been the main offenders, fanning flames of Middlesbrough's up-and-coming club scene enough to score a place for the club in this year's poll.
