CELEBRATING 20 glorious years in 2011, Zouk first opened its doors before even London's evergreen Ministry Of Sound and remains fresher than a daisy today. From the next-level guests - everyone from Danny Tenaglia and Radio Slave to Osunlade and Sven V?, Luciano, Tiga, Riva Starr and Roger Sanchez - to the brilliant residents, like Jeremy Boon and DJ B, to the incredible soundsystem, designed by audio avatar Gary Stewart, to the remarkable, fastidious attention to detail, every aspect is refined to perfection. "I always look forward to playing at Zouk," Ferry Corsten says. "I've been playing Zouk at Christmas for a couple of years now, and I'm always happy to be back. Great club, great vibe and congrats with your 20th anniversary!"

Divided into three mini clubs, each has its own distinct theme. Real Andy Warhol and Keith Haring artworks bedeck the upscale house hub Velvet Underground's walls, spacecraft moulded ergonomics shape the r&b and hip-hop focused Phuture, while stucco Balearic tiles are dotted across the walls of the techno and electro-driven Zouk Club: it's a gobsmacking visual feast. And with the club's own festival Zouk Out now attracting up to 30,000 revellers to its Sentosa beachside haunt in December each year, Zouk has transcended its origins as one of the coolest clubs and is now one of the most recognisable clubbing brands, full stop.
