Cavo Paradiso
2

On the cliff-top of an island more prone to cash-rich holidaymakers with superyachts than the types you catch at Fabric on a Friday night, lives one of the great anomalies of clubland.

Cavo Paradiso — pitched above Paradise Beach — is a poolside venue encapsulating all the charm, all the warm-hearted gusto, you'd expect from a quaint Greek island, except with a top-notch soundtrack.

Decorated stylishly with terracotta tiles, white-wash walls, even a few cast-iron gargoyles, it has a look and feel closer to a classy Grecian villa than a superclub — that is, until it sets off the custom-built JBL Dance 5/3 soundsystem and CO2/confetti cannons.

Most concerned with talent likely to pull thousands of punters on a fairly remote tourist haven — Tiestö, Angello and Aoki all played last summer — Cavo is also partial to names carrying underground credentials as well as significant, international appeal.

Hence, it's loved by Ricardo Villalobos and Sven Väth equally, who we expect, like us, cannot wait for it to kick off another summer season, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
