Located in Tokyo's Bay Area Shin Kiba, Ageha opened in 2002 and has remained an undisputed heavyweight of the international scene ever since. Armed with a 36-strong stack of speakers, part of a system designed by Timbre Tech, it has an outdoor poolside stage (Water), a bespoke warehouse space (Box) and in summer a man-made beach is laid, allowing clubbers to catch rays in the sunshine.

Doubling up as a live venue (Studio Coast) during the week, the minds behind Ageha have thought of everything, but most impressive is the world-beating underground talent welcomed through the door each week. Nicolas Jaar, Space Dimension Controller, Actress and John Talabot all appear at the club as part of SonarSound Tokyo this month, proving Ageha is not just about throwing shapes — it's about shaping minds.
