AIR Amsterdam

We all need oxygen to stay alive and the same can be said for Amsterdam's club scene. The highest placed club (still surviving) from the Dutch capital — a city that supports one of the world's most thriving countries for dance music — AIR Amsterdam delivers something exquisite to a circuit that pretty much has everything.

While the dance festival scene in Holland is probably the strongest in the world and Amsterdam goes ballistic during ADE, this club is about consistency all year round. Unlike the sale of air from Kanye West's Yeezus Tour on eBay, there's nothing gimmicky about this AIR. Custom-built entirely with clubbing in mind, the location was once home to 'Dam's famous iT venue during the '90s, the site was demolished and what emerged in its place are some of the most modern rooms known to clubland.

Artily conceived and stylishly designed, the technology on offer here — decking the walls as well as the booth — is as advanced as the sound. Offering everything from edgy bass music to noisy EDM, there's plenty to get light-headed about at AIR Amsterdam.
